'Your Choice, My Support’: Reviewing the Deeply Respectful Heart of Duke by Jessica Peterson
Duke by Jessica Peterson on Kindle Unlimited

Okay, Duke Rivers. I see you. Consider me officially a citizen of Hartsville, because this book was a perfect little escape.

If you’ve met the Rivers brothers, you know Duke has been waiting patiently for his turn, and let me tell you, he did not disappoint. This man is pure, steady sunshine and the kind of hero who shows up, pays attention, and just... stays. He’s exactly what Wheeler needs. She’s all sharp edges and guarded walls, a brilliant woman who’s been underestimated by her own family. Watching Duke gently, persistently find his way past her defenses was the best part of my week.

I have to give a special shoutout to Jessica for how this book handles a big, sensitive topic. When Wheeler faces an unexpected pregnancy, the story slows down. It lets her think, and worry, and decide without any pressure. And Duke? His entire vibe is “your choice, my support.” It was so refreshing and deeply moving to see that level of respect written into a romance.

Their love story feels real because it’s built on conversations, quiet moments, and two people genuinely choosing each other, piece by piece. It’s sweet without being syrupy, and heartfelt without being over the top.

I laughed, I got a little misty, and I closed the last page feeling completely satisfied. The Rivers family has my whole heart, and Duke might just be my new favorite.
