Unbothered GenX. Mood Reader. Homebody with permanent wanderlust.

I was born next door to Texas, in the land of gumbo and jazz (that’s Louisiana, cher), but these days I call the Lone Star State home. My heart, though, has a few other addresses—scattered across the 17 countries I’ve lived in & traveled to, from the neon-lit streets of Asia to the quiet spice stalls of the Middle East.

My love affair with stories started on my grandmother’s home, sneak reading her mail order Harlequin Romances. Was it appropriate for a twelve-year-old? Debatable. Did it wire my brain for happy endings, complex heroines, and emotional payoff? Absolutely.

For decades, my shelves were ruled by historical fiction and romance—give me all the brooding dukes and resilient women. Then, my oldest daughter decided I needed more magic in my life and handed me a fantasy novel. Now, you’ll find dragons and epic quests sitting right alongside my well-worn copies of Little Women and The Red Tent.

Here, you’ll find:
📖 Reviews without rules. I’m a mood reader. One day it’s a spicy romance, the next it’s literary fiction that wrecks me.
✨ A focus on voice & character. Plot is great, but I’m here for the people.
🌿 A cozy, conversational corner. Think of this as the digital equivalent of chatting over sweet tea in my garden (where I talk to my tomatoes like they’re my children—they listen better).

I’m too old for TikTok trends, but never too old for fictional drama. I believe in dog-eared pages, a well-told story, and the magic that happens when you find a book that feels like it was written just for you.

Welcome to my shelf. Let’s find your next favorite read.
